The FACET Foundation (For Africa’s Children Every Time), established by Mr Laurence Graff, in partnership with Stepping Stones International, works to empower youth to become leaders of the next generation. To this end, FACET established Leadership Centres in Lesotho and Botswana. A further mobile library and learning programs were successfully established in the Cape Winelands.

The FACET / Stepping Stones partnership in Botswana focuses on providing innovative educational and psychological support programs for orphans and vulnerable children aged 12-18. Its vision is to motivate participants to continue education and obtain employment. These programs include peer education, tutored study, computer training, confidence and self-esteem building, goal setting, psychosocial support, life and job skills training, expression through art, drama, poetry, music, sports and play, income generating activities, advocacy and community mobilization.

This development ties in with FACET’s policy of giving back to all communities in which the company has operations. The Leadership Centre in Mochudi is particularly close to FACET’s cause as associate company Diamond Technology Park operates extensively in Gaborone, working to develop the local diamond industry.

The Leadership Centre benefits thousands of orphans, vulnerable children, youth, their caregivers and community stakeholders, with further outreach to additional community members.
